Travel Nurse Job Details

• Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210
• Unit: Labor & Delivery, High Risk Obstetrics
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/5/2026 – End: 4/6/2026)
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
• Employment Type: Travel RN
• Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults
• Unit Size: 13 beds, daily census ~10
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Orientation: 36 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio nursing license)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AWHONN Advanced or NCC C-EFM accepted)
• EPIC charting experience required
• IV start and Labor & Delivery experience required
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Willingness to float to other hospital units as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or supervisor)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care for patients in Labor & Delivery, including high-risk obstetrics
• Perform IV starts, administer medications, and monitor maternal and fetal status
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and post-delivery recovery
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, provide patient education
• Conduct antepartum and postpartum assessments, including APGAR scoring
• Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, interpret telemetry, and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Float to Antepartum and other units as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.)
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records
