Travel RN Job Details – Columbus, Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio 43210

Unit: Labor & Delivery, High Risk Obstetrics (6 Doan Hall)

Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 1/26/2026 – End: 4/27/2026)

Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 36 hours/week

Estimated Weekly Pay: $2050 – $2100

Patient Population: Neonates, Adolescents, Adults

Unit Size: 13 beds, average daily census of 10

Weekend Coverage: Required

Orientation: 36 hours

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a hospital setting

Active Registered Nurse license (compact RN license or Ohio RN license required)

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AWHONN Advanced or NCC C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)

Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records (EHR) charting

IV start and Labor & Delivery clinical skills required

Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Ability to float to Antepartum and other hospital units as needed

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions considered)

Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor)

Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care for Labor & Delivery and high-risk obstetrics patients

Perform IV starts, administer medications, and monitor maternal and fetal status

Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, and post-delivery recovery

Support breastfeeding, lactation, and patient/family education

Conduct antepartum and postpartum assessments, including APGAR scoring

Utilize external and internal fetal monitoring, interpret telemetry, and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns

Float to Antepartum and other hospital units as required

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, etc.)

Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EHR

Participate in orientation and ongoing clinical training to ensure best practices in patient care
