Description ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: A Student Analyst in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a training role for students working towards their certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Under the direct supervision of a BCBA, they gain hands-on experience implementing behavior intervention plans, collecting data, and providing direct therapy to clients, most often children with autism. This role provides invaluable experience for students in ABA or related fields. This position is ideal for someone who is a BCBA in training. Our hope is that within 1 year of hire, you are able to move into the BCBA role. General Responsibilities Function in a supervisory capacity and provide oversight to all areas of programming, including the training of ABA Therapists and Interventionists (if applicable). Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, using both discrete trial training and natural environment training models of teaching. Facilitate and assist in the development and identification of resources and support information for clients and their families. Will deliver instruction and training on specific, individualized programs that are already established. Assist in the development and implementation of assessment tools, conduct functional assessments and analyses when appropriate, and develop appropriate behavior strategies to teach appropriate replacement behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors. Work collaboratively with staff and families to promote positive student behavior by providing professional development that targets research, evidence-based strategies, and modeling of instructional practices to support staff in their implementation of positive support. Create an ongoing data collection system to establish baseline and programmatic efficacy for all consumers, and analyze data on a frequent and ongoing basis to guide programming. Assist in the development of behavior plans/treatment plans for all consumers with a focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s). Engage children/families on the waiting list for admission to ESL Chartwell Center to provide supportive services/ABA instruction until full admission to the school. Develop and provide a menu of ABA-oriented training to provide for caregivers/families in the home setting. Become certified in the Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills (PEERS) model of care and assist in the development of a clinic where this service can be provided at the ESL Chartwell Center during after-school hours. Meet as needed with supervised staff to discuss ongoing consumer issues and to provide support when necessary. Submit mileage reimbursement as needed for OPSB, not to exceed 25 miles for travel to other schools. Receives supervision from a BCBA and follows the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s policy on supervising BCBA candidates and ensures the required documentation is completed. Qualifications Requirements Bachelor's degree in a behavior-analysis-related field, such as psychology, behavior analysis, or education, complete the required coursework, be willing to complete the supervised experience. Work towards obtaining a State Licensed and, as certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Preferred - Classroom Teaching Experience Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and resources. Experience in crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills. Becoming Safety-Care Crisis Prevention Training is required. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a positive collaborative relationship among staff. Experience working with various funding streams and other third-party sources. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Proficient in computer skills, especially using Outlook, Word, Excel, and customized databases. Understanding and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances. Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and public speaking. Good interpersonal skills, ability to relate well with persons from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural groups. Demonstrates initiative, self-motivation, practical learning skills, enthusiasm, and an ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Physical Requirements With Or Without Accommodation The employee is regularly required to operate a computer, file and retrieve written documents, communicate with others on the phone, and in person. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands, and lift and/or move lightweight items. Ability to move independently or with reasonable accommodation within the facility and community. Working Conditions This position requires travel to and from partner schools. Individuals must have reliable transportation. Work is performed in a normal office environment and a school environment.
