JOB SUMMARY As a Retail Assistant Manager, you will support the Store Manager and Manager In Training in recruiting, hiring, training, and managing store personnel. Your goal will be to achieve sales targets while controlling expenses and safeguarding company assets. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Meet and exceed personal and store sales goals. Assist in recruiting and hiring exceptional staff. Help train and develop a successful sales team. Provide coaching and feedback to employees to enforce company policies. Ensure implementation of company initiatives to meet standards. Identify and nurture talented staff for internal growth. Oversee daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager. Manage loss prevention practices effectively. Communicate store needs to management. Resolve customer issues promptly. Offer a full-service experience to customers. Handle bank deposits. Embody and promote the Journeys culture. JOB REQUIREMENTS Prior retail management experience preferred. 6-12 months of retail sales experience. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Desire to excel in a fast-paced retail environment. Eagerness to learn and grow. Completion of necessary training programs for advancement. Ability to work 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends. Physical capability to climb, reach, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. Stand for extended periods. Must be at least 18 years of age.
