The Retail Assistant Manager plays a vital role in leading the store team to create an engaging and customer-focused shopping experience while staying true to the Boot Barn Mission, Vision, and Values. Provide coaching and feedback to team members, ensuring they are empowered to reach their goals. Support ongoing training and development to improve both operational and merchandising performance across the team. Work closely with the Store Manager to adapt to changing business demands and implement operational procedures. Communicate customer needs and feedback to the Store Manager for local market adjustments. Collaborate on community outreach initiatives to drive store events and build local connections. Encourage team members to engage customers with the Boot Barn Credit Card and B Rewarded Loyalty Programs. Oversee merchandising standards, maintaining stock levels and visual presentation to meet customer needs. Ensure compliance with markdown processes and manage product inventory effectively. Actively contribute to plans addressing inventory shrink and ensure team involvement. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all product categories to effectively coach team members. Complete all opening and closing procedures according to company standards. Adhere to local, state, and federal laws as well as company policies and procedures. Demonstrate professionalism in communication and teamwork with customers and colleagues. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: Associate's Degree and/or 2 to 4 years of retail management experience. Proven ability to lead and manage teams in a sales-focused environment. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Flexible availability to meet business needs, including nights and weekends. Willing to travel up to 15% to support local stores as necessary.
