Position Summary WashU's Division of Student Affairs seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the position of Women's Health Advanced Practice Provider. The Division of Student Affairs advances the educational mission of the university through resources and experiences outside the classroom that prepare our students for lifelong success.
Provide primary gynecology care to a diverse student population, within the scope of practice and consistent with the skill, training, education and competence of an Advanced Practice Provider. This includes providing a range of clinical services, including diagnostic assessment, medication management, appropriate referral to off campus resources, and coordination of care between specialists and family members as indicated. This includes performing minor procedures as approved during privileging.
This is a full-time, 10-month (August - May) position. Schedule comprises approximately 40 hours per week during the academic calendar and 30 hours per week during academic breaks.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct annual gynecologic examinations, Pap smears, breast examinations, and pelvic examinations. Perform contraceptive counseling and management which may include IUD insertions and removals (if privileged), contraceptive implant procedures, and emergency contraception. Diagnose and treat gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, sexually transmitted infections, and reproductive health concerns. Perform pregnancy testing, counseling, and appropriate referrals. Conduct health risk assessments and provide counseling on lifestyle modifications, nutrition, and exercise where appropriate. Order and interpret relevant diagnostic studies including pregnancy tests, STI screenings, and hormonal assessments. Will provide acute evaluation and management of sexual assault cases. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop patient-centered care plans. Document all patient encounters in an electronic medical record according to institutional standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive health information. Complete required reports, documentation, in basket management, and billing. Work with Student Affairs, Res Life, RSVP, Health Promotion team in the extension and promotion of outreach education to the student and campus community regarding human sexuality, STIs, Immunizations and preventive health screenings. Engage in continuous quality improvement activities. Stay current with evidence-based practices through continuing education, professional literature, and clinical guidelines. Participate in departmental meetings, committees, case reviews, and gynecology specific CME. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner Master of Science or Doctoral in Nursing with emphasis in the Nurse Practitioner program. Advanced Practical Nurse licensure (or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire). Certification in Women's Health and minimum one year experience in gynecologic care. Basic Life Support certification (Online Basic Life Support certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the Basic Life Support requirements). Physician Assistant Graduate of PA program. Current PA licensure to practice in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois depending on location or ability to obtain within three months of date of hire. Advanced certification in Women's Health and minimum one year experience in gynecologic care. Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements). Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working with students or young adults. Experienced in IUD insertion. Experienced in hormonal implant insertion and removal. Ability to provide best practices in clinical services to students seeking medical care. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Comprehensive knowledge of gynecologic conditions, reproductive health, and contraceptive methods. Proficiency in gynecological examination techniques and procedures. Excellent pharmacological methods in Women's Health. Preferred Qualifications

Salary Range $86,300.00 - $155,500.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
