Overview FWSP Student Technical - LX Studio role at University of Central Oklahoma. This is a Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) student technical position referred to as Student Techceptionist, assisting and supporting faculty, students, staff, and clients utilizing the LX Studio spaces during day and evening hours. Primary duties include troubleshooting technology issues (e.g., video conferencing or other classroom technology) and setting up classroom and meeting spaces to requested preferences. The Student Techceptionist supports LX Studios reputation by providing excellent customer support for activities at the downtown OKC locations and online.
Hours 20-25 hours per week
1 evening shift per week required
1 weekend shift per month required
Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff, clients, and guests, including identifying and assisting them with classroom, technology, and facility needs.
Provide basic technical support for instructors in classroom settings.
Provide basic troubleshooting of technology issues.
Accurately and promptly report technical problems to the supervisor.
Provide some clerical and general office assistance as needed.
Respond to customer queries in a professional, timely, and accurate manner via phone, email, or chat.
Record and/or update documentation of technical, facility, and/or process issues and valuable discussions.
Share requests and effective workarounds with supervisor and team members.
Follow up with students, faculty, staff, clients, and guests to ensure their technical issues are resolved.
Enrollment Requirements Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for UCO student positions. Half-time enrollment for fall/spring: 5 credit hours for graduates, 6 for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time (9 credit hours for graduates, 12 for undergraduates).
Summer Semester: FWSP positions require a minimum of 6 credit hours (undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (graduate). Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes to work summer; FICA taxes may apply.
Enrollment Exception: If fewer hours are needed to graduate, obtain an Academic Advisor letter specifying remaining hours and graduation date and submit to Human Resources.
FWSP Requirements To be considered for FWSP employment, you must be awarded work study through the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships. Summer FWSP is a separate application process. Enrollment requirements for FWSP: Undergraduates minimum 6 credit hours; Graduates minimum 5 credit hours. If in final semester and hours needed are fewer than minimum, obtain an Advisor letter and submit to the hiring department.
