Breast Ultrasound Technologist Non Registered We are a comprehensive breast imaging center providing services across nine fixed locations and two Mobile Mammography Units. The expert and caring staff at Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health are fellowship-trained, board-certified specialists who focus on breast health. We conduct hundreds of mammograms each week and diagnose and treat more than four hundred patients each year.
Under the supervision of a Radiologist, you will utilize specialized knowledge and skills to produce high-quality sonographic images along with invasive breast procedures to aid in diagnoses.
As an imaging professional, you'll be aligned with the latest technology, evidence-based medicine, and clinical research.

For technologists with no prior breast imaging experience, we offer a 12-week training program that will equip you with the knowledge and tools needed to provide high-quality breast care.
For experienced technologists we provide an abbreviated training program that includes a comprehensive review of our protocols, machines, and IT platforms.

Position Summary
The Breast Ultrasound Technologist Non Registered will perform a variety of complex, specialized, and technical tasks associated with the operation of high-resolution ultrasound systems to acquire breast ultrasound images.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Enrolled in a 18-month accredited by the JRCDMS and approved by Spartanburg Regional. Registry eligible upon graduation.
Experience
Minimum of 1-Year clinical rotations with registered ultrasound technologists
Completed a clinical rotation in a dedicated breast center
License/Registration/Certifications
BLS Certification
Currently has passed the SPI portion of the ARDMS physics registry

Core Job Responsibilities
Perform complex tasks associated with the operation of high-resolution ultrasound systems and related equipment to produce special images of the breast, axilla, and chest wall.
Evaluate ultrasound scans for technical quality, collate processed images in sequence per protocol and appropriately label. Complete appropriate documentation on all systems, mark review and transmit to PACS in a timely manner.
Assist other healthcare professionals with imaging procedures.
Assist radiologist with invasive breast procedures.
Positively responds and implements change when needed and has good decision-making skills.
Assists with quality control and maintenance of all equipment in the area
Properly utilize accessory equipment such as patient moving devices, stretchers, warmers, scanners, printers, and PACS workstations
Prepare patients for procedures, explain procedures to patients. Report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Provide an oral and/or written clinical history to the MD readers and other healthcare professionals.
Follows, maintains and helps implement hospital and departmental policies and procedures
Consistently communicates with patients, guests, staff and physicians in a positive manner
Knowledgeable of compliance and regulatory requirements and adheres to Federal, State, accrediting bodies, and standard practice of care for patients, staff, guests and facilities
Adheres to departmental procedures and protocols
Works as a team member with peers and other departments. Responds calmly and efficiently to situations.
Regularly attend departmental meeting, in-services and actively participate in continuing education activities
