Position Availability: This position is available starting 9/25/2025. Scheduled on a per-show basis for 1-7 weeks in general INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH The Production Department at the College of Performing Arts seeks a highly motivated student to serve as Theater & Opera Production Stage Crew, Student Assistant. We’re looking for self-starting, motivated individual(s) to support initiatives for Theater and Opera Productions. This position reports to the Producer, Theater and Opera and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in Stage Management, Production Management, and/or Arts Management.This position is hired on a per-project basis. This position is open to student applicants with Federal Work Study awards and student applicants without a Federal Work Study award. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist production assistants, backstage crew, and deckhands during tech and performances.
Support the Production Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager with setting up and breaking down rehearsal rooms, running rehearsals, and communicating with directors/designers/and production staff on the needs of productions.
Attend rehearsals and technical rehearsals as required, notifying Production and Stage Management regarding any personal scheduling conflicts in advance.
Track prop and costume usage, backstage run sheets, and blocking notation, completing any other duties assigned by the Production Stage Manager or Production Manager.
Transport, setup and strike rehearsal props or related items each rehearsal session.
Cue singer and/or performer entrances during rehearsals, tech and performance as needed.
WORK MODE
On-Campus Position – Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely.

Hourly Rate: $17.00/hr
Hours per Week: Up to 20 hours per week SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS Applicants should submit a resume outlining their skills and experience concerning this position, as well as a Federal Work Study award letter if applicable. Minimum Qualifications: Able to work independently or collaboratively on a team when needed
Word Processing Software and Data Software (such as Word, Google Doc, Excel, and Sheets) experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills, organization and time-management skills.
Ability to maintain a punctual, professional, and positive collaborative attitude when working
Preferred Qualifications: Recipient of Federal Work Study award
Student in a College of Performing Arts degree program
