Access Management is a critical component of Security and Compliance within KU
Information Technology, ensuring secure and appropriate access to all enterprise systems
and services for faculty, staff and students. This position will work alongside Access
Management staff to create and manage access to secondary accounts received via ticket,

The Access Management student position is a great opportunity to learn about enterprise
Identity and Access Management, managing a ticket queue (TDX), automated scripting
through Readibots (Cloudbridge), and basic query writing. Team members will work
independently while collaborating with and supported by staff, have the opportunity to
learn the structure of KU IT, and interface with the many departments that request
secondary accounts across campus.
Prospective AM students should enjoy computer work, practicing excellent customer
service, and be detail oriented. Self-motivated candidates, with a willingness to learn new
things, should thrive in this position. All work will be done via computer and will not include
a call center phone queue or deskside customer service.
The technical skills needed in this position will be provided through training and mentoring
with staff and supervisors. Access Management provides a welcoming and rewarding work

Job Description
Creating/modifying secondary accounts from ticket, form, and email request 65% Troubleshooting secondary account access changes 15% Updating department documentation 10% Tasks/duties to assist full-time staff 10%
Required Qualifications
Able to effectively communicate with customers, supervisors, and colleagues as evidenced in application materials. Able to interact with KU community members with excellent customer service skills as evidenced in application materials. Self-motivated, willing to learn new skills, able to follow instructions, and able to complete tasks with light supervision as evidenced in application materials. Schedule availability to work 10-20 hours per week during semesters, and 10-35 hours per week during summer.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook. Experience learning new technologies. Experience with form work and/or detailed note taking.
Position Requirements
During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
Employment Conditions
Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR. This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
