Job Summary/Basic Function
Under the supervision of the permanent office staff, the student worker will perform administrative tasks for the Office of Sustainability as well as helping to plan programs and lead initiatives on campus. The office supports all sustainability related initiatives, activities, and events on campus. Specific tasks vary throughout the year. Hours are also available during semester breaks. The student worker must have computer skills, customer service attitude, be dependable, and able to multitask. Required Qualifications Attention to detail
Dependability in attendance and ability to take responsibility for productivity and quality of work.
Basic skills with MS Office suite – especially Outlook, Word and Excel.
Skills in social media – specifically Instagram and Facebook.
Positive attitude and ability to work with a team. Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills.
Ability to complete tasks independently.
Must be curious, enjoy problem-solving and strategic thinking.
Must a valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications Interest in sustainability or related environmental focus.
Previous experience planning and organizing programs and events.
Creativity when designing engagement strategies on campus. Job Duties Perform administrative tasks for department personnel as needed. Tasks may include: Assisting with organizing and planning student engagement and programming,
Recommending strategies to engage with Millersville and Lancaster community, including faculty and staff,
Creating resources for educating and informing students, faculty, and staff as well as for anyone visiting campus,
Creating unique social media posts to capture viewers’ attention and increase views and engagement,
Taking notes and creating minutes for meetings when in attendance,
Researching new technologies, infrastructure, green energy, and any available incentives and rebates,
Assisting with any additional needs from the Office of Sustainability. Working Conditions and Physical Effort Must maintain a valid driver’s license.

The student worker will be encouraged to create a final report or presentation on their work over the academic year and suggest next steps for the future.
Applicants expected to start in Fall semester with the hope of continuing through the Spring semester.
