Job Summary/Basic Function
The Career Center is seeking a student worker to provide clerical support and advocacy for the Mentorship Office located in Bedford House. Required Qualifications · Minimum GPA 3.0· Have completed at least 12 credits at MU· Enrolled Millersville University Student· Available to work 10 or more hours/week for a full academic year including evening and weekend availability· Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, a willingness to accept responsibility, ability to work within a team, and an attention to detail· Enjoyment of and experience with public speaking· Willingness to dress appropriately for a professional office environment· Demonstrate role model behavior. Candidates must be in good disciplinary standing.Personal Conduct Probation or a Disciplinary Reprimand within the last twelve months disqualifies you for the position. With any previous discipline, an interview will be granted at the discretion of the Hiring Manager· Maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications · Knowledge and successful use of the services offered by the Career Center and/or the Mentorship Office· Graphic design, videography, web editing, event planning, project management, public speaking, and social media experience
Job Duties Task may included but are not limited to: · Provide clerical support and advocacy for the Mentorship Office located in Bedford House, which includes student/alumni customer service, knowledge of mentorship, polices, services and upcoming events· Create publications (flyers, brochures, newsletters, etc.)· Post flyers around campus· Process mentorship program paperwork· Collect, process, and manage the tracking of flags for mentorship programs· Copy handouts and gather materials for classroom visits and events· Represent and assist in planning and staffing fairs, programs, and other events· Assist Assistant Director of Mentorship with various tasks· Abide by confidentiality when working with mentor/mentee information and flags· Manage timesheet
Additional Responsibilities
Promotion/Marketing · Answer student, alumni and faculty/staff questions about the Mentorship Office and programs
Workshops/presentations
· Prepare and Present or Co-present mentorship workshops to classes, student organizations, residence halls and clubs· Promote events/services via classroom presentations, info tables and face to face marketing
Event Planning and Management
· Develop and sustain relationships with targeted student organizations to boost student engagement· Develop and provide promotional support for Mentorship Office· Assist with special events
Administrative
· Participate in project meetings as needed· Assist in monitoring weekly mentorship flags
