Job Title: Student Transporter Type 10/Type 20 Driver
Note: This position will begin as temporary and may be extended based on district needs.

Position Type: Temporary
Hours: 7.5 hours
Hourly Range: $18.95-$25.52
This position includes driving a student to and from their educational placement in Beaverton daily.
GENERAL DUTIES
Operate District vehicles limited to Type 10 or Type 20 for the purpose of safely transporting students or supporting District programs. Follow procedures to ensure that vehicles are safe to drive.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or its equivalent
Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
Hold valid Oregon Driver's License
First Aid Certification
Type 10 or Type 20 Certification
Background check/ fingerprinting
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Transport students in District Type 10-20 vehicle
Manage student behavior while being transported in a District vehicle
Communicate with other school or program staff to address student concerns
Ensure the safety of students in and around District vehicles
Develop and maintain vehicle evacuation plans and perform drills with students
Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure proper vehicle operating conditions
Clean District vehicles both inside and outside
Report vehicle accidents and vehicle concerns in a timely manner

Demonstrate professionalism when working and communicating verbally and nonverbally with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds
Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment
If employee is bilingual they may be required to interpret, translate documents, and/or communicate orally in the second language
Report to other work sites on a temporary basis to fill a significant need as determined by a District level administrator
Pay Grade: Based on salary agreement
