JOB DESCRIPTION: STUDENT TRANSITIONAL SUPPORT MANAGER
Location: Handley Alternative
Reports to: Program Director
Division: Programs Implementation and Learning Systems
Position Type: Full Time/exempt
Supervision: Yes
About the Role:
Supports the alternative education program by establishing a connection between Metro Opportunity at Handley and FWISD schools. Supervises Program Specialists and creates system of individual and small group support for students to obtain skills within transition aims. Visits home campuses and works with school interventionists to create plans for students to reduce recidivism within alternative school placement.

About the Ideal Candidate:
The ideal Program Instructor is mature, consistent and models professional behavior in numerous situations. This person will also have experience in the education system and understands restorative justice.
What the Role Entails:
Provide support to program leadership and team members in various programming functions
Promote a safe space for emotional and physical support to students participating in the program per established guidelines and training
Engage in positive interaction with all participants, treating them with dignity and respect
Coordinates the Personalized Learning Plan (PLP) for Metro students to track the goals of student attainment.
First point of contact for incoming students. Greets them, informs them of first day's procedures, introduces them to their Program Specialist and explains the PLP process.
Manages a team of 4 Program Specialists, assigns case load and checks in with Program Specialists to ensure student tracking is up to date and students are prepared for transition meetings.
Works with Campus Specialist on exit transitional support, transition scripts, Exit meetings with home campus
Performs Home campus visits for students. Creates calendar of outgoing students and home campus assigned. Meets with Director once a week to form plan of visits for at risk students and share tracking forms for students.
Work with Director to develop communication and connectivity between Metro and Home school. (Process for students re-entering home school)
Perform other duties as needed for the success of programming outcomes
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency required, associate degree or post high school coursework a plus
Two years' experience in in-school (IST) or out of school (OST) programming environment in administrative support or student direct services, preferably in a management role.
Understanding of restorative justice practices in school settings and classroom management.
Management or supervisory experience
Willingness to travel to multiple campuses in FWISD.
