Student Support Services Program Coordinator

Overview The Highlights: Reporting to the Associate Director, the SSS Program Coordinator (PC) will be responsible for developing and coordinating program activities for the Student Support Services Program, as well as maintaining records of student participation for federal and campus reporting purposes. The Program Coordinator plays an important role for record management, data collection and data recording for program evaluation and Annual Performance Report. The PC will complete tasks aimed to report to the Associate Director on information about overall program operation such as recruitment, student advising, student retention, record management, cultural events, and will establish a system for program documentation and archive.
What You'll Do
Assist program with tasks aimed at student enrollment, program participation, advising and mentoring. Revise online program applications, complete monthly participation roster revisions, assign caseload to advisors, and maintain a 15-20 participant case load for advising and mentoring.
Responsible for maintaining program records of student participation in SSS program services and sponsored activities; update participants rosters and records on a quarterly basis. Perform program evaluation tasks to collect and summarize information to be included in quarterly and annual reports to the University and the U.S. Department of Education.
Provide additional support such as coordinating workshops, coordinating TRIO or student affairs meetings, and collaborating with partner offices at DePaul to deliver services for Access, Attainment, and TRiO (AAT) students. These collaborations support program, department and Division strategies for retention and graduation.
Assist the associate director to plan and coordinate educational program activities to promote participant engagement and sense of belonging by communicating and updating the SSS newsletter. The coordinator will follow up with target student groups to promote events, opportunities and activities for selected groups, such as freshmen, STEM students or students with disabilities.
Will supervise 1-2 student employees who serve as Student Leaders and Office Assistants.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree required and progress toward or admission to a master's degree in education or social science field preferred.
One to two years of experience with student services, advising, academic assistance, program/data management in an academic setting required.
Experience with coordinating academic services (advising, tutoring, mentoring) to first generation and low-income college students in higher education.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
Basic understanding of descriptive statistics to run with Excel (Microsoft Office).
Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong commitment to TRiO philosophy and program objectives.
Openness to learn new software and systems such as Dedoose, Qualtrics and Salesforce.
Open to potential domestic travel with students to conferences and/or professional development opportunities.
Compensation The anticipated hiring range for this position is: $20.93 to $24.73 per hour.
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
