Hours/Days: 7.0 hours per day (Monday through Friday), 172 workdays in a school year.
Salary/Wages: Based on the current B21 salary schedule. (Office Professionals Work Agreement) Starting wage: $18.78
This part-time position closely follows the school calendar (7 hours per day, late August through early June). The primary functions of this position are carried out in the assigned school buildings. The Due Process Clerk is responsible for providing clerical and scheduling support for the special education teachers in the assigned schools. This position involves significant amounts of phone and email communication to coordinate and schedule meetings with parents and school staff.
Qualifications:
Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma.
Proficient in the use of Google Mail, Documents, and Calendar.
Must have strong organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively under deadlines.
Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people, both in person and using the telephone.
Attention to detail and both written and verbal communication skills are extremely important in this position.
The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals, including community members, district staff, and representatives from other public agencies.
Summary of Duties:
Planning and scheduling special education team meetings based on due dates. Review due-process paperwork to ensure it is completed and accurate.
Gathering, collating, and disseminating special education forms and reports to all designated recipients.
Tracking, processing, and communicating the return of signed documents.
Promoting and maintaining positive and effective communication between case managers, parents, and other district staff.
Other related duties as assigned.
