The Student Research Assistant, under general supervision, will engage in a guided approach to hypothesis driven research activities related to either of the following areas of research: Animal Sciences, Plant and Soil Sciences, Food Systems and Social and Allied Science studies; willing to perform research focused on improvements in agricultural practices; Willingness to perform literature searches, work independently in a laboratory setting, collect data, contribute to dissemination of information at local, state and national conferences as well as for peer reviewed manuscripts. Responsibilities : Perform field work. Conduct lab experiments. Preparation of reports. Preparation for conferences. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience: Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University. Must be in good academic standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA No prior experience necessary For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least three graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six undergraduate semester hours or nine graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term. Preferred Education and Experience: Working towards BS degree in agriculture, computer science, engineering or the sciences; Preference will be given to applicants with a strong willingness to work in agriculturally-related projects as indicated in their resume.
