Student Recruiter, Career & Technical Education The Student Recruiter, Career & Technical Education (CTE) serves as the primary point of contact for prospective students interested in CFCC's career and technical education programs, including skilled trades, manufacturing, and other workforce-focused pathways. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing a comprehensive campus visit program, while expanding community outreach and engagement to build awareness of CTE opportunities. The Student Recruiter, CTE manages individual and group campus tours, participates in community-based events and career fairs, and delivers presentations to promote CFCC's technical programs across New Hanover and Pender Counties. This role ensures CFCC's CTE programs are well-represented in the community and provides targeted outreach for all program types, including short-term workforce training, certifications, and degree programs. The Student Recruiter, CTE also provides prospective students with detailed information and guidance regarding program options, enrollment processes, and support services, helping them navigate pathways into high-demand careers.
This is a Time Limited, Temporary Full Time Grant Funded Position that ends December 2026 with potential to be extended.
Receives general direction from the Director, Student Onboarding & Recruitment. May supervise work-study students or student ambassadors.
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Plan, coordinate, and conduct individual and group tours of CFCC's Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs (both in-person and virtual) ensuring an engaging and informative visit experience.
Meet with prospective students and families after tours to answer questions about CTE pathways, admissions, and career opportunities.
Expand and maintain a strong outreach presence by participating in community-based events, high school visits, and career-focused presentations.
Represent CFCC CTE programs at community events, career fairs, and promotional functions to connect with prospective students and local partners.
Deliver presentations about CTE programs, support services, and enrollment opportunities at events such as information sessions, Career Discovery Nights, and One-Stop Enrollment events.
Coordinate and participate in CACRAO college fairs, educational opportunity programs, and CTE-focused showcases in partnership with area high schools.
Respond promptly to inquiries by phone, email, and in-person, assisting prospective students with CTE-specific enrollment steps, admissions, residency, financial aid, and related student services.
Develop and implement a communication plan for prospective CTE students using the college's customer relationship management software.
Assist with leading and managing the Student Ambassador Program, recruiting and training ambassadors who support CTE tours, events, and outreach.
Maintain records of recruitment and outreach efforts, tracking engagement and outcomes for CTE programs.
Coordinate the distribution of CTE recruitment materials and promotional items across campuses and community events.
Collaborate with the Community Relations Office to create marketing materials and strategies highlighting CFCC's CTE opportunities.
Ensure CFCC CTE programs are consistently visible in the community, seeking opportunities to connect with schools, employers, and community organizations.
Balance a busy calendar of CTE campus tours, recruitment events, and community outreach while maintaining strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Assist in the promotion and coordination of activities and events sponsored by Student Services.
Participate in professional development opportunities related to student recruitment and engagement.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of college programs, policies, and procedures.
Participate in the enforcement of the Rights and Privacy Act.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Knowledge of:
Recruitment goal setting and monitoring of targeted student populations.
Student recruitment, inquiry management, and relationship-based marketing.
Human relations and personnel practices.
Microsoft Office Suite, CRM's, and student information systems (preferably Colleague).
Successful customer service practices.
Virtual outreach platforms.
Ability to:
Perform related work as required.
Work well both independently and as part of a team with individuals with diverse backgrounds.
Communicate clearly and respectfully, both orally and in writing.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
Some travel is required. Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle if school vehicle is not available. Driving record must be free of any moving violations. Ability to travel between campuses on short notice.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Minimum Education/Training: Associate's degree or higher
Minimum Experience: One year of professional admissions/recruitment (or comparable) experience
Valid NC driver's license with driving record that is within the parameters set by the college
Preferred Education/Training, Experience, Skills:
Community College experience preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish highly preferred
Experience using a CRM preferred
Experience presenting to large and small groups preferred
Virtual outreach and tele-counseling experience preferred
