Student Project Assistant- Records Office

The Registrar's Office is hiring a Projects Student Worker to provide support across multiple areas, including scheduling, registration, transfer credit, transcripts, customer service, reporting, Banner data entry, and degree auditing. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on office experience while supporting essential services for students, faculty, and staff. Must be able to work during all breaks, graduation weekend, and most importantly during the summer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific assignments will be based on the high-priority needs of the office and may include:

  • Assisting with the packaging, release, and distribution of diplomas, certificates, and official transcripts
  • Updating course details, attributes, restrictions, and prerequisites in Banner for the course catalog and schedule
  • Providing customer service to the University in person, via email, and by phone
  • Supporting Records staff by analyzing reports, conducting special projects, and performing Banner data entry
  • Preparing and reviewing reports to support registration, transfer credit, and degree audit processes if needed
  • Scanning and archiving documents electronically into Softdocs Etrieve
  • Creating step-by-step guides, instructions, and flyers using Canva to support office communication and student services
  • Assisting with projects related to scheduling, registration, transfer credit, transcripts, and degree audits
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Records Office staff

Experience:

  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Sheets, Google Docs and Gmail and other related computer applications.
  • Experience with Chrome/Firefox.
  • Previous office experience preferred.

Qualification:

  • Must be a current student at La Sierra University to apply.
  • Maintain good academic standing/citizenship.

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Challenging and dynamic office environment that can be stressful at times due to the amount of data coming into the office.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25.

Pay Rate: $16.50-$18.30/ hr.
