We are searching for an engaging, passionate, Student Library Assistant, Part Time to help lead our College during this ever-changing Community College environment.
Target start date: 10/13/2025 Employment Type: Non-Exempt Hourly Pay Rate: 12.00 - 12.00 Primary Site Location: Beeville Open Until Filled
Essential Functions:
The library assistant is one of the direct contacts for the library and plays a vital part in providing resources to students, staff and faculty.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Managing patron accounts Assisting patrons through the check-in and check-out process Providing a general overview of the library resources, both physical and digital Aiding in the necessary prep and execution of library events Creating themed book displays Providing reader's advisory Answering reference questions Basic filing and organizing Shelving books and materials utilizing the Library of Congress Classification System Performing basic troubleshooting for library hardware/software Answering technological questions in regards to library services Other duties as assigned
Other Duties:
Working on Friday and some evening for events may be required.
Travel Requirements:
None.
Environment:
Work is generally performed in an office setting with frequent interruptions and changes in the workflow/volume. May require some outdoor work for CBC events.
Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Be enrolled at least part-time for the duration of employment.
Preferred qualifications:
Background and Experience/Expertise
Details Equals Excellent customer service skills, knowledge of basic computer software such as Microsoft Office, experience in basic computer troubleshooting, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask as well as carry out tasks with limited supervision and a willingness to learn. Previous library experience preferred, but not required.
