STUDENT INTERN - ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING (HDQ)

POSITION PURPOSE This is a temporary position that assists the Electrical Engineering section at headquarters. The incumbent must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assist with the development of technical drawings to improve troubleshooting.
Verify as built conditions and subsequent drawing updates.
Assist engineering staff on project assignments.
Generate tracking reports.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Be at least 18 years of age.
Be enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year Electrical Engineering (EAC/ABET accredited) program with Sophomore year completed, or recent graduate (within the past 12 months).
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Hold a valid driver’s license.

This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position, which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous internship or relevant work experience.
Additional certifications or coursework in field of study.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS This position requires frequent sitting, and standing/walking; and occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, use of keyboard/computer, bending/reaching, kneeling, lifting/carring up to 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position occasionally may work in conditions of dirt/dust, fumes, chemicals, extreme heat/cold, vibration, noise, poor ventilation, electrical risks, and confined areas. This position requires good hearing and vision, and the ability to speak. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines. This position may need to be respirator qualified. Occasional travel may be required.
