Student Health Center Operations Program Supervisor
Overview
SHC is a unit within Multnomah County’s Community Health Center. The program provides primary care health care in 9 SHCs in coordination with five school districts: David Douglas, Parkrose, Centennial, Reynolds, and Portland Public Schools, and the Behavioral Health division’s School Based Mental Health program. The SHC Operations Program Supervisor leads daily operations, ensuring high-quality, affordable care and overseeing scheduling, quality control, and facilities. The role also helps develop growth and financial sustainability strategies aligned with the organization’s mission and vision.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Management: Direct operational activities, set policy and priorities, manage resources, align operations with organizational goals, lead the team, solve complex problems, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives.
Operational Excellence & Business Acumen: Ensure efficient program operations, analyze data for informed decisions, manage risks, and model the program’s values while fostering professional development, collaboration, and customer service.
Fiscal Management and Strategy: Oversee financial health with monitoring, budgeting, and corrective actions; explore new revenue streams and opportunities to ensure long-term viability.
Team Leadership and Development: Hire, supervise, coach, evaluate staff, and cultivate a culture that supports professional growth and accountability.
Human Resources & Diversity Management: Collaborate with HR on licensing and certifications; manage staffing and morale; champion diversity and inclusion as part of business strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement and Quality Assurance: Represent the program, participate in committees, provide consultation to external agencies, and evaluate service quality using data and client/partner feedback for continuous improvement.
Compliance and Problem-Solving: Ensure adherence to laws and safety standards; apply performance improvement principles to address issues and foster trust.
Operational Oversight and Planning: Monitor operations, customer care, and staff needs; use data to set objectives and develop new procedures for ongoing progress.
Subject Matter Expertise and Advisory: Act as a technical expert, provide guidance to staff and external parties, serve on management teams, and contribute to program development.

Minimum Qualifications / Transferable Skills
Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or related field (or relevant education/experience in lieu of a degree).
3 years of experience in healthcare operations management with strong financial, supervisory, and quality improvement components.
Preferred Qualifications / Transferable Skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to foster inclusion and collaboration.
Experience leading and supervising teams in a healthcare setting.
Project management experience.
Experience overseeing facility repairs and renovations with multiple stakeholders.
Experience with Epic EHR systems.

Location: Gateway Children’s Center Service Building, 10317 E Burnside St, Portland, OR 97216
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am – 4:00pm, with availability until 5:30pm on established clinic late days
