Student Echo Sonographer- Cardiac Ultrasound

The Student Echo Sonographer is required to have direct supervision by a registered Echo Sonographer with patients and physicians, performing transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms while providing patient care and patient safety as established by department standards. The student echo sonographer shall be capable of operating ultrasound equipment, properly cleaning and sanitizing the probes and equipment after each use. This position is also responsible for performing a variety of basic secretarial, clerical and housekeeping functions such as customer service, examination and work area cleaning, telephone communications, computer system data entry, information retrieval, (HIS, RIS, PACS), and infection control. Student echo sonographers exercise professional judgment while performing services in a demeanor complimentary to customer service, age specific criteria, safety and medical ethics. Other duties as assigned.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Enrolled in and be a student in good standing of an AMA approved school of Echocardiography. BLS required within 3 months of hire.\

Experience: Clinical experience in an Echocardiography program.
