Student Assistant - CRI - Group Fitness Instructor

The Student Assistant will support the Campus Recreation and Intramurals as a Group Fitness Instructor on the Armstrong Campus beginning Spring 2026.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
This position is a part of CRI's Fall Job Fair, October 3 - 31, 2025.
Responsibilities
Ensures the safety of all participants in group fitness classes
Programs effective workouts for various fitness levels and special populations
Sustains a fitness level conducive to teaching hour-long classes
Enforces all CRI and Group Fitness policies and procedures
Maintains the cleanliness and order of group fitness studios
Attends all monthly meetings, trainings, and special events
Instructors must complete an audition in the interview process
Requires instructors to obtain certification for the specific fitness format they intend to teach, and will then be eligible for a pay increase
Successfully complete a group fitness training program after hiring
Shift Specifics
Up to 10 hours per week
Flexible with schedule of availability
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education
Nationally recognized group fitness, personal training, or specialized fitness certification
Preferred Experience
Intermediate or advanced exercise experience in instructing groups of 20 to 70 people
Proposed Salary
$10.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
