The Student Account Coordinator serves as a key member of the Student Financial Services team, providing front-line support to students and families regarding billing, payments, and account inquiries. This role is responsible for processing transactions, assisting walk-in visitors, responding to emails and phone calls, and ensuring accurate and timely entry of charges and payments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-service driven, and able to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Submit and process student charges, adjustments, and credits.
  • Provide in-person support for walk-in students and families with account questions, payment processing, and general assistance.
  • Manage and respond promptly to emails and phone calls related to student accounts, ensuring clear communication and professional service.
  • Enter, post, and reconcile student payments in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential financial records for students.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve account discrepancies, support student success, and improve processes.
  • Assist with special projects, reporting, and account audits as assigned.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and promoting efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Prior experience in customer service, cash handling, or account management is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with student information or financial systems are a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment

This position is student- and customer-facing, requiring regular interaction with walk-in visitors, phone inquiries, and email correspondence. The role may require occasional extended hours during peak billing or registration periods.
