Job Title: Respiratory Care Equipment Technician - Student Department: Respiratory Care Location: Unity Hospital Hours Per Week: Flexible/48 hours per quarter Schedule: Day/Evening/Night
SUMMARY: Sets up, monitors and maintains all routine respiratory care equipment throughout the hospital. This includes the documentation of all appropriate procedures, repair and preventative maintenance of all related equipment used on all age groups. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document all appropriate procedures, repair and preventative maintenance of all related equipment used on all age groups.
Perform minor routine repairs and preventative maintenance on respiratory equipment according to department policies and procedures on a daily basis.
Perform daily equipment processing of all respiratory equipment: Disassemble process, assemble, and test all respiratory care equipment on a daily basis according to department policies and procedures.
Identify and retrieve all electrical equipment due for calibration and regular preventative maintenance and deliver to the Bio Medical Engineering department on a scheduled basis.
Assist in the program of battery replacement and calibration of all battery-powered equipment: Replace batteries as necessary.
Provide assistance to respiratory care team members. Respond to requests from therapists as necessary, according to department policies and procedures. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Enrolled in accredited Respiratory Care program Required Licensure/Certification Skills: • None Desired Attributes: Accuracy in checking, posting, counting, performing technical procedures, and interpretation of instrumentation. EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
