Base pay range $20.76/hr - $20.76/hr Job Description STC is looking for student workers who want to gain experience working with agile and collaborative teams, receive training in advanced technologies, and learn the current strategic technology trends. If you are a self-starter, technically competent, and familiar with one of the following subjects - Operating Systems, Networking, Web, Programming, Database, and/or Cloud, you will have a great opportunity to learn advanced concepts and skills through this position. Responsibilities Tutor students one-on-one or in small groups. Student Assistants mentor students and help them during lessons and after-class in person, on the phone, or via video conferencing. Assist Program Directors, Program Managers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with setting up course materials, monitoring LMS course shells, and helping students troubleshoot technology-related issues they encounter in the classroom. Convey their knowledge and understanding of course material to students who are learning at different levels. Minimum Qualifications Education Must have three full quarters remaining in the CityU program. Must have fulfilled 6 credit hours in STC's graduate program. Must major in an MS degree in the School of Technology and Computing (STC). Experience Ability to show a solid understanding of programming concepts in any one of the following languages - Python, C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bash, and/or PowerShell. Ability to demonstrate a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform job duties with minimal supervision, effectively prioritize work, multi-task, and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines. Ability to maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to handle MS Office products, including Outlook and advanced functions of Word, Excel, and SharePoint. Ability to learn other business software, including learning management systems. Ability to lead beginning-level technical workshops with diverse student, staff and faculty populations. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Additional Information Hours: This is a part-time (19.5 hours per week) student position. Salary: This position pays the current minimum wage ($20.76 per hour). This is a non-benefited position. On-campus Requirements: Students are required to work onsite at the Seattle campus for a full day, twice per week.
