Job Summary
Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON) is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-service focused Part-Time Procurement and Operations Assistant to join our team.
Department Specific Responsibilities
Performs moderately complex administrative financial duties in support of the department's daily business operations, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures as well as applicable federal and state regulations.
Assists with other administrative duties as assigned.
Serves as primary point of contact for IU Nursing faculty and staff regarding financial transactions. Provides guidance and support on procurement policies and procedures.
Processes various documents and reimbursements into the university's central information systems (Travel, KFS, HRMS, etc.).
Reconciles travel and p-card transactions.
Reviews and verifies the accuracy, completeness, and adherence to university purchasing policies for all submitted requests. This includes ensuring proper chart of accounts coding, appropriate vendor selection, and justification for purchases.
Assists with the review and verification of invoices against purchase orders and university policies, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to BUY.IU transactions, collaborating with relevant university departments (e.g., Purchasing, Accounts Payable) as needed.
May assist with administrative needs related to the daily operations, planning, and implementation of various or multiple student services or department initiatives.
May work on office projects engaging others to collaborate and accountable to see through to completion.
Serves as liaison to department and/or other university divisions.
May assist with other duties as assigned.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
EDUCATION
Required
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
Preferred
Sophomore or junior in class standing
3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA)
WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred
2 years of relevant experience
SKILLS
Required
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
Demonstrated time management and priority setting skills
Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Proficient in software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
General knowledge or demonstrated ability to learn basic functionality of IU systems (KFS, HRMS, SIS)
Basic accounting and financial skills; ability to reconcile accounts
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
Ability to execute administrative tasks with attention to detail
Ability to work and fulfill responsibilities with minimal supervision
Maintains a high degree of professionalism
Effective interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills
Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Work Location
Bloomington, Indiana
This is an in-person position.
Advertised Salary
$15.00 - $20.00 hourly based on skills and experience
Work Hours
Up to 15 hours per week. Schedule will vary based on availability and business need.
Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
