About The Role:This role will be responsible for creating user-friendly UI concepts: Collaborate with BCP UX Architect and cross functional product group teams to understand project requirements and user needsCreate wireframes, mockups and prototypes that meet project requirements, satisfy strategic consistency initiatives and create preferred experiences on our productsCollaborate with Enterprise UI Designers and Architects to encourage strategic consistency across divisional productsDesign intuitive and user-centered interfaces for next generation machine displaysConduct user research, usability testing and gather feedback to iterate on designs and improve usabilityResponsible to define and deliver the common product practices for scalability and reusability - into the enterprise design system repositoryWhat you will do:Product Design : Analyze and understand how operators interact with construction equipment in real-world environments. Collaborate with users and internal team members to understand & define requirements. Develop initial UI concept layouts based on available display screen sizes and based on information needed by our customers. Collaborate with cross functional teams throughout our value chain starting from the initial concept through production. Simulation: Build prototype interactive concepts using tools like Figma for internal user reviews. Refine designs based on internal reviews and simulated user interactions. Test/Validation/Hands on: Complete user testing in a simulated and/or real-world environment to understand & quantify the user's experience. Use qualitative and quantitative data to identify pain points and areas for improvement. Make iterative changes based on test results and validate final designs before handing off to the development team for implementation. What you will have:Basic qualifications:This position is available for Work Based Learning students at Wake Technical Community CollegePursuit of a 2-Year degree within a UX/UI discipline minimum1+ Year experience with UX/UI design principles preferredAbility to collaborate well within a team environmentEffective verbal & written communicationAbility to think strategically & manage multiple prioritiesTechnical excellenceInitiative & Intellectual CuriosityGeneral proficiency in MS OfficeTop candidates will also have:Previous experience as a UI Designer or similar role, with top candidates having experience with Off-Road Heavy Equipment displays or Automotive displays.Detail oriented individual and an eye for aesthetics and stylingPrevious experience using Figma for wireframing, prototyping and specification documentationKnowledge of Human-Centered Design principles and ability to apply these principles in product designHigh creativity but capable of working within our next generation design frameworkExposure to software & product design architectureDemonstrated High Emotional IntelligenceInitiative and be a goal-oriented self-starter.Additional Info:Office Model: This position requires the employee to work in office during scheduled shift.Relocation: Domestic relocation assistance IS NOT available for this roleISE: ISE assignment IS NOT available.Visa Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship IS NOT available.Summary Pay Range:$25.00 - $43.00 Intern Hour Rate:An intern's hourly rate is based on the major/degree being pursued and the number of completed academic hours achieved before the start of the internship.
