Position Overview: As the Middle School Dean of Students, you will play a vital role in cultivating a positive, achievement-oriented school culture. You will engage with students and families to build strong relationships and oversee student behavior programs. Your presence will be felt throughout the school as you manage and support student well-being. Key Responsibilities: Assist teachers in improving communication with parents and students. Organize and analyze various student assessments to track progress. Review academic reports and mid-semester assessments. Develop and implement academic and behavioral support initiatives for students. Maintain student discipline, ensuring proper documentation. Coordinate the planning of new student orientation. Meet with parents regarding student performance and conduct. Contribute to the development of academic and student schedules. Help in planning and executing standardized assessments. Foster positive relationships between teachers and parents. Coordinate academic intervention programs for students. Collaborate with the Student Support team to facilitate after-school programs. Participate in faculty and staff meetings. Organize arrival and dismissal procedures for students. Qualifications: Strong belief in and commitment to the BASIS Curriculum. Exceptional relationship-building skills. Ability to analyze data effectively to enhance student achievement. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities. Advanced problem-solving and negotiation skills. Capability to work independently with various stakeholders while upholding high professional standards. Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Attention to detail and accuracy. Patience, flexibility, and a good sense of humor. Additional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred. 3-5 years of experience as a middle school dean, preferably in charter or independent schools. Experience managing a National Junior Honor Society chapter is preferred. Candidates must be able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card.
