Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary duties will be to assist with minor book repairs under the guidance of the Mending Supervisor.
Tasks could include, but not limited to, the use of book tape, book cloths, glue, cleaning chemicals, cutting boards, other cutting tools such as X-Acto knives, utility knives and scissors, brick weights and book presses.
Student will work closely with Cataloging staff to access the cataloging module to place internal notes on each item; as well as online databases to check if owned by other libraries.
Will keep track of mending supplies and report in a timely fashion when supplies are needed; and will keep statistics on all work completed.
Student may be asked to assist with processing tasks as needed; and under other duties as assigned, to assist with any ongoing book or media labeling projects.
