The Manager, Bursar of Student Accounts is responsible for the overall daily operations of the Bursar office. They will manage aspects of student and sponsor billing, payments, collections, electronic commerce, reporting, and the centralized accounts receivable systems for the university. They will ensure compliance with university, state, and federal regulations, along with standard accounting procedures. The Manager will work closely with the Director to forecast office needs and implement efficient workflows for the team. They will utilize a variety of university-wide systems applications and Department of Education state and federal sites, as well as other system applications. The Manager will work closely with a variety of offices across the institution to support student retention, graduation, and student satisfaction goals.
Job Duties Oversees the day-to-day operations of the team.
Subject matter expert for proper operational processes, policies, and procedures.
Works with other teams and departments to ensure proper and efficient workflows are in place.
Participates in annual audits, gathers reports and data on related to controls, and procedures.
Stays informed of changing governmental and legal requirements, participates in yearly trainings, webinars, and conferences as needed.
Ensures updated processes, procedures, and training protocols are in place.
Leads process improvements and creates efficient workflows.
Takes initiative in improving the student and staff experience.
Coordinates efforts on escalated student situations to ensure timely solutions.
Helps establish and implement short- and long-range organizational goals and operating procedures, monitors and evaluates pragmatic and operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement related to student tuition and experience.
Ensures proper operation processes are accurate and timely as it relates to the office.
Maintains accurate records.
Ensures monthly key performance indicators are reported in a timely manner.
Partners with various stakeholders.
Attends and participates in meetings and committees as required.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence with the ability to lead, collaborate, and build healthy relationships with other departments to improve processes and procedures.
Highly detail oriented and organized
Ability to develop a team of employees based on their individual strengths
Possesses research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in word processing and related computer-based office management tools
Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
Strong leadership and financial account analysis skills and experience
Possesses thorough understanding of Title IV federal aid awarding and disbursement processes
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree
5 years of experience in an institution of higher education
5 years of leadership experience, including organization, administrative, and project supervisory
Salesforce experience
Office operations experience
Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree
State, Federal Aid, and Title IV experience
Working knowledge connected to a Bursar/Student Accounts office or Financial Aid office
Strong experience in Banner student systems experience
