This position's primary function is to provide a clean, sanitary, and well-kept campus for employees and visitors by performing tasks associated with cleaning office spaces, restrooms, lobbies, and other general areas in a university setting. Physical Demands This position requires good physical and mental health. The housekeeper must be able to lift, carry, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull during their shift. Continuous movement is expected, and workers should be able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Judgment Required The housekeeper must follow procedures for handling blood, hazardous chemicals, and bodily fluids according to OSHA standards and Lipscomb training. Shift Details This is a second shift position, from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Hours are flexible, with 3-4 hours per shift preferred. Typical Duties Clean and maintain classrooms, elevators, vending areas, closets, laundry facilities, offices, restrooms, hallways, stairs, stadiums, and arenas. Perform duties such as trash removal, mopping, disinfecting fixtures, and replenishing supplies. Perform special cleaning tasks, selecting appropriate chemicals for different surfaces like vinyl, ceramic, carpet, metal, glass, brick, wood, cork, and concrete. Clean vent covers. Select suitable equipment and techniques based on surface type and re-opening schedule; maintain and repair equipment as needed. Clean and maintain floors by buffing, stripping, and refinishing. Clean baseboards, corners, doors, and vacuum or shampoo carpets. Report areas needing restoration due to heavy soiling or wear. Perform high-level disinfecting using products with COVID-19 kill claims, including T-360 Electrostatic Sprayer, on high-touch surfaces in dorms, restrooms, and showers, as required by Lipscomb's Clean Commitment or upon request.
