HELP Program College Student Volunteer GWV

Volunteer Opportunity At Geisinger Wyoming Valley Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) is seeking college student volunteers to participate in the Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP). Volunteers must be actively enrolled in an academic pre-med or clinical studies program and be at least 18 years old. They will engage in direct patient interaction and receive training for low-risk service. The service is supervised by a clinical team and requires a minimum of four hours per week for at least two semesters, totaling 100 hours of service. Orientations are offered three times a year for Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
Volunteers represent Geisinger and assist in serving patients, guests/families, and the community. They fulfill specific roles based on assignment, enhancing the patient experience and supporting Geisinger employees. The program emphasizes kindness, excellence, learning, innovation, and safety.
Geisinger volunteers serve with passion and kindness, supporting staff and employees to deliver high-quality care to patients and their families. We strive to ensure all volunteers have a meaningful experience while serving others.
