Job Summary
The University Development Office is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Design Student Associate for the Spring 2025 semester. Under the guidance and direction of the design team, the Graphic Designer will assist in the creation of visually-compelling print and digital materials for fundraising initiatives that support students, faculty and research at UT. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while gaining hands-on experience in the professional design process and marketing campaigns in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Senior Graphic Designer, the graphic designer will design and produce high-quality print and digital materials, which may include direct mailers, brochures, one-pagers, advertisements, presentations, event collateral, signage, infographics, social media assets, animations, email layouts, greeting cards, and promotional items.
Ensure consistent adherence to UT's brand guidelines, maintaining visual coherence across print, email layouts, greeting cards, and promotional items.
Collaborate with the design team to brainstorm and develop creative solutions for projects.
Update and adapt existing designs across multiple formats and sizes to meet specific project needs.
Prepare and preflight print files, ensuring they meet technical specifications and are print-ready.
Assist with photo sourcing and editing, including color correction, resizing, cropping, and maintaining consistency across images.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Proven experience and interest in graphic design, with relevant education or demonstrated skills as an acceptable substitute.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to create high-quality work, backed by strong design and typography skills, along with awareness of current industry trends.
Independent worker with the ability to meet deadlines and accept constructive feedback.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), as well as PowerPoint and Microsoft Office.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin.
Must not be employed in another on-campus position concurrently.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in graphic design and production.
Familiarity with the printing process, including understanding print specifications and preparing final files for production.
Salary Range
$ 15.00/hour (depending on qualifications/relevant experience)

Work Shift Spring 2025 semester
10-12 hours per week
Weekly hours are flexible and can be scheduled around classes, but must fall between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Work will be performed on campus in a professional office environment.
