About the position
FSU Undergraduate Peer Tutors at Fitchburg State University provide individual and/ or group tutoring to students in specific subjects where the tutor has excelled and/ or in writing. The role focuses on facilitating learning, enhancing students' academic skills, and promoting independent learning. Tutors are expected to maintain communication with their supervisor and participate in training and supervision sessions to ensure effective tutoring practices. Responsibilities
Tutor students in specific course material, and/or writing, and integrate study and learning strategies.
Participate in paid tutor training and complete observation of tutoring session requirements.
Complete and submit required documentation on time.
Refer students to other campus resources appropriately.
Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor and attend regularly scheduled supervision and observation sessions.

Earn a 3.3 or better in tutored courses.
Provide two faculty references.
Maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
Complete mandatory tutor training and required observations.
Attend supervision sessions.
Demonstrate an ability to establish a positive rapport and reliable communication with tutees.
Maintain open communication with the ACT and respond to communications in a timely manner.
Uphold academic integrity and the policies of the ACT and remain in good standing for continued employment.
