The Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness is seeking a federal aid recipient for student employment. This position will be funded by federal work-study dollars; only students that receive financial aid awards can be considered for this specific role. If you have questions about your award or are not certain that you are receiving financial aid, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at extension 3156. Please see below the specific duties and responsibilities of the position. Ambassadors are undergraduate students who work in the Center for Diversity and Inclusiveness. Ambassadors are students who are passionate and excited about social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and involvement. The responsibilities of a CDI Ambassador shall include: Welcome all guests to the Center and ensure that guests are signing into the Center. Manage the office space such as properly answering the phone and making sure the common areas of the office are clean. Routinely check CDI email and redirect emails to the professional staff. Connect faculty, staff, students, and visitors with the appropriate resources within our center or elsewhere on campus. Maintain a respectable office environment which includes creating a sense of belonging for anyone visiting and or participating in CDI events. Build relationships with the current Student Organizations associated with CDI: African Student Association (ASA), Black Student Union (BSU), Caribbean Student Association (CASA), and the Latin American Student Organization (LASO). Keep social media accounts updated by sharing current and relevant information about office initiatives. Attend staff meetings and required training. Collectively plan one educational or social program a semester.

Requirements:

Must be currently attending Fitchburg State University as an undergraduate student.

Must possess federal work-study.

Must be willing to learn about diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.
