Education Professional Development
CDCC is a participant in Washington’s Early Achievers Program. We actively support professional growth—whether that means returning to college through scholarships or pursuing an alternate pathway to meet DCYF education requirements. In fact, we advocated alongside other early educators to pass SHB 1648, giving our workforce more time and flexibility to meet credentialing standards. Duties
Position Responsibilities Support the classroom team in assessing the social, emotional, intellectual, nutritional, and physical development of each child.
Foster each student’s growth while instilling a sense of wonder and excitement about learning.
Assist in monitoring developmental progress using the Washington State Early Learning and Development Guidelines (training provided).
Document observations and milestones in relevant domains and regularly update learning objectives via the Brightwheel platform (training provided).
Help implement and maintain compliance with:
DCYF Minimum Licensing Standards
Early Achievers Framework
Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirements
Promote and maintain a healthy, safe, and inclusive classroom environment .
Collaborate with the team to plan and implement developmentally appropriate, emergent curriculum activities.
Assist in applying positive guidance techniques that support problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Help maintain classroom inventory and ensure materials and supplies are replenished as needed.
Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and maintain all required STARS hours and annual trainings (ongoing training provided and/or paid for by CDCC).
Be comfortable using basic computer programs and iPads for documentation and communication.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director or Lead Teacher.
Requirements
Completed 30 hours basic STARS (or must complete within 60 days of hire)
Current Pediatric/Child CPR and First Aid Card (or must complete within 30 days of hire)
Current Bloodborne Pathogens Training Card (or must complete within 30 days of hire)
Current Food Handlers Permit (or must complete within 7 days of hire)
Current Mantoux TB Test within last year (must complete prior to first day of work)
Proof of MMR vaccine or Measles Immunity
Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series (preferred but not required)
Cleared Portable Background Check Clearance via DCYF
Nice To Haves
Short or State Early Childhood Education Certificate or AA in ECE
One year experience working in E.C.E. with children ages one to five
