Department : Center for Student Leadership & Involvement Salary : $12.00 per hour DESCRIPTION

Student Leadership and Involvement (SLI) is seeking a dependable, engaged student to support daily operations in the Student Lounge and throughout the department. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop leadership, communication, and administrative skills in a dynamic, student-centered environment.

DUTIES Greets and assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner Monitors the Student Lounge to ensure a clean, safe, and inclusive space by enforcing lounge policies and performing light cleaning duties as needed Supports Locker Rental Program and equipment check-outs Answers department phone lines, takes accurate messages, and provides general information Performs clerical tasks, including copying, scanning, filing, distributing mail, and data entry Assists with the preparation and execution of SLI-sponsored events, workshops, and student organization initiatives Runs errands to various departments and locations on campus Assists with social media content creation or student engagement efforts as needed Opens and closes the lounge area, ensuring all emergency and safety protocols are followed Participates in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Available to work up to 20 hours a week, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM-8:00 PM Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with students, faculty, and staff Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); comfort with digital tools and platforms is a plus Reliable, punctual, and organized with strong attention to detail Comfortable learning new tasks and taking initiative Positive Attitude and Professional Experience Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform light physical tasks, including event setup Performs opening and closing procedures and follows all UHD emergency procedures QUALIFICATIONS Must be a current UHD student Must have received a work-study award from the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher
