Primary Purpose: To act as a support person for the administrative assistant and faculty in the department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process mail
Various data entry tasks
Campus errands
Filing, labels, merge files, edit office schedules (Word and Outlook), run Banner reports and edit in Word or Excel
Create and edit Excel spreadsheets
Stock office supplies, operate copier, complete supporting clerical tasks, maintain bulletin boards and keep information boxes stocked.
Keep faculty updated in clerical functions needed for class work
Other miscellaneous office tasks. Phone and office coverage during Administrative Assistant's absence.
Math Contest preparation, day of and follow up tasks

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Office work experience.
Ability to use software programs and database systems which include Microsoft Office Suite, email, website editing, basic desktop publishing, and modern office equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to be accurate and detail oriented.
Ability to remain flexible and do different tasks on a daily basis.
Ability to manage conflicts within and/or between groups and to work in a team environment.
Ability to provide consistent and dependable customer service.
Ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds and other aspects of human diversity.
Ergonomic Requirements:
Regular office hours are established between 8 am - 5 pm during the workweek.
Incumbent must be able to function effectively indoors in an office environment engaged in work of primarily a sedentary nature. Requires the ability to work at a workstation for extended periods. Requires to write, read written materials and computer screens, and ability to use telephonic conversations. Occasional lifting up to 25Ibs. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Requirements:
Awarded and accepted Federal Work-Study for 2025-26.
Meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid.
