Location:Charter Schools throughout Broward County, FL Hours:Part-time, 812 hours per week (during school hours, school year schedule) Telehealth and In Person Mental Health Therapy schedule/services is flexible
About the Role We are seeking dedicated and experiencedESE Counselors to support charter schools in Broward County. Locations include but are not limited to Deerfield Beach and Weston, FL. This position provides counseling as a related service for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The ESE Counselor plays a key role in helping students improve their ability to perform academic tasks while collaborating with school staff as a member of the IEP team.
Responsibilities Provide counseling as a related service to students with IEPs at assigned charter schools Plan, implement, and log counseling sessions in compliance with BCPS standards Maintain secure and accurate counseling records at each school site Communicate student progress toward academic goals as part of the IEP team Collaborate with ESE and general education teachers while respecting role distinctions (teachers are responsible for documenting mastery of goals) Uphold BCPS expectations and represent the district professionally in all school interactions Maintain a minimum of 5 in person and/or telehealth cases for mental health therapy services
Minimum Qualifications Masters degree in Counseling, Guidance, Social Work, or Psychology Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as a family counselor, clinical psychologist, social worker, or rehabilitation counselor Experience providing counseling as a related service within a public-school ESE program Understanding of BCPS requirements, including IEP Related Service of Counseling & ESE Counselors Services for Schools (training/webinar provided if needed) Direct experience working with K12 students and IEPs Ability to travel between school sites within Broward County
Schedule & Compensation Part-time role, approximately 812 hours per week during school hours (assignments vary by charter school) Locations include but are not limited to Deerfield Beach and Weston, FL. Maintain a minimum of 5 telehealth cases for mental health therapy services. Flexible scheduling for telehealth sessions. Competitive hourly rate, based on experience
