JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Student Services at CAAC will serve as a strategic leader responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive, student-centered support ecosystem. This role will directly contribute to student retention, graduation, and overall satisfaction, establishing CAAC as the premier destination for students pursuing degrees in Architecture, Art, and Construction. This position balances strategic planning with operational execution, cross-unit coordination, and data-driven decision-making to continuously enhance the student experience. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
35% - Essential - Strategic Leadership: -Design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive and centralized CAAC student services office aligned with institutional goals. -Develop and refine policies and procedures that support academic achievement, retention, and timely graduation. -Coordinate with departmental and college-wide student services teams (faculty and staff) to ensure aligned goals, programs, and continuous improvement. -Represent the college in key advising-related committees and meetings. -Lead efforts to centralize registration processes across CAAC units. -Promote collaboration and "cross-pollination" among departments to support student mobility and course accessibility.
20% - Essential - Advising & Oversight of Advisors: -Provide academic advising to a designated student population within CAAC. Offer guidance on academic planning, goal setting, and navigating personal or academic challenges. -Lead the development and delivery of training and professional development for the team of faculty and staff advisors to ensure alignment and communication.
20% - Essential - Data Tracking, Reporting & Assessment: -Oversee or assist with tracking key recruitment, enrollment, and advising metrics (e.g., application rates, yield, retention). -Use data to monitor student progress, identify areas for intervention, and inform continuous improvement. -Collaborate on institutional student success initiatives and help design new strategies to improve outcomes.
15% - Essential - Recruitment Strategies: -Partner with the CAAC Assistant Director of Recruitment and CAAC Events Coordinator to plan, implement, and assess recruitment initiatives across all CAAC units. -Contribute to a cohesive, innovative recruitment approach aligned with CAAC's brand and mission.
10% - Essential - Student Experience Innovation: -Champion the development of a holistic and differentiated student experience that positions CAAC as a national leader. -Explore and implement innovative, inclusive, and affordable strategies to enhance the student journey from admission to graduation.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - Master's Degree and experience in student services programs.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education Area - Higher education, student affairs, counseling or related field Work Experience - 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in student services or advising. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex programs. Strong data literacy and experience with student information systems and analytics tools.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides Budget Input - Provides input into the budgeting process, and oversees fund allocation.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range ($ 57,334.00 - $ 85,000.00)
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's .
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
