Be a part of our mission of preparing dentists that are committed to serving the underserved communities in northern New England and beyond. The University of New England College of Dental Medicine (UNE CDM) is seeking a Director of Recruitment, Enrollment, and Student Success to join our team.
The Director of Recruitment, Enrollment, and Student Success is responsible for overseeing all aspects of attracting, enrolling, and supporting students throughout their academic journey. The Director works collaboratively with the college's leadership including Assistant/Associate Deans, Department Chairs, and Assistant/Associate Directors as well as University colleagues.
Responsibilities include developing key relationships and liaising with a variety of institutional student support service areas and other internal and external stakeholders to collaboratively support program development and implement strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni Relations, the Director develops and implements comprehensive enrollment, recruitment, and student success plans and supports the academic mission of the CDM as follows:
Recruitment and Enrollment Manages the admissions process for predoctoral and Advanced Standing Track candidates and serves as the liaison with the Office Graduate Admissions.
Oversees the development of enrollment pipeline programs to attract and expand the pool of qualified dental applicants.
Manages recruitment initiatives to yield competitive, diverse candidates, in line with the College's mission.
Student Success and Retention Implements strategies to support student retention, academic progress, and overall well-being.
Leads the Student Success Team initiative, which involves implementing early intervention strategies.
Manages the academic advising framework and serves as the liaison with the University Student Academic Success Center.
Administrative Serves on the CDM Leadership Council and other committees as assigned.
Travels to attend seminars, conferences, admissions and recruiting events, in-service training and professional staff or committee meetings as required. Estimated travel is 10-15% of the year.
Assists in orienting new faculty and professional staff to the college's student success initiatives and admissions processes.
Supports preparations for accreditation site visits and assists with tracking compliance with accreditation standards on an ongoing basis.
Networks with other professional staff, admissions directors, dental schools, and organizations to share and gain knowledge that would help improve the program.
Maintains regular attendance, reliability, and availability to students.
Supervises the CDM Recruitment and Enrollment Coordinator.
Strategic Monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness of the student recruitment, enrollment, and success initiatives and works collaboratively with college administration and university departments to effect changes required for improvement.
Supports development of strategic pre-dental program relationships to enhance the quality of applications from institutions in northern New England.
Engages in a process of continuous quality improvement and data analyses that provide guidance for short and long-term programmatic goals that result in the achievement of measurable outcomes.
Participates in special projects and other activities as assigned.
Qualifications
Master's degree in a related discipline, such as education, psychology, administration, etc. Relevant experience in an academic administrative setting preferred, and/or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 10+ years of experience in higher education working with graduate and/or professional students.
Prior experience in a leadership role.
Strong, comprehensive understanding of academic administration in graduate and/or professional education.
Experience and knowledge of academic and student affairs workflows, including student recruitment, admissions, and support.
Ability to effectively represent the school and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to deal effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups within the University community and outside the University.
Experience advising students on complex and confidential matters.
Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment.
Demonstrated commitment to contributing to and advocating for a humanistic learning environment.
Familiarity with the unique needs of non-traditional adult learners and professional students.
Proven program planning, organizational, administrative, and supervisory skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Brightspace (or similar LMS), and Google Suite.
Willingness and ability to travel; valid driver's license required.
