Overview: Assists the Program Manager in the supervision of youth in school sites.
Campus Location : Off Campus Length of Employment: One academic year, contingent upon performance and organizational needs. Can a student do homework in this position? Never Hours Available : 1-10 hours/week Schedule Flexibility: This position requires a fixed schedule. Student availability should be submitted in advance. School assignment will be made based upon the agreed-upon schedule.
Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities (TDRs) and Learning Outcomes
· Manages a pod of 15 students through social, emotional and academic enrichment programs designed to support elementary or middle school students CM, PF, LD · Assist with the delivery of daily lessons that focus on literary skill development, STEM, social-emotional enrichment and healthy relationships CM, PF, LD · Tutor or provide homework support for youth CM, PF, LD · Assist with leading daily enrichment programs that focus on art, STEAM, and/or sports and character building CD, TW · Build positive relationships with youth that support their success ad well-being CM, EI · Support delivery of group instruction in a safe and structured environment CM, TW · Supervise youth during program hour in a safe, sensitive, developmentally appropriate, positive manner CM, EI · Help youth build healthy positive relationships with each other, with adults, and with their families CM, PF, LD, EI · Engage parents and family members as needed to support the youth CM, PF, LD, EI · Demonstrate professional behavior that supports team efforts and enhances team behavior, performance and productivity CM, PF, LD, EI, TW · Maintain timely and accurate records concerning youth participation and outcomes as needed PF. TC, CT · Monitor youth during field trips CM, EI · Other duties as assigned
Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities or KSOAs) Qualified candidates will have the following competencies and skills: Eligible to work in the United States. Must be eligible for Federal Work Study. Enrolled in at least six credit hours during fall and spring semesters. Experience leading educational curriculum for groups of 10 or more youth A deep passion for working with youth and families. A strong sense of teamwork, leadership skills, and project management skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a diverse group of team members and youth. At least one-year previous experience working with groups of elementary and/or middle school- ages youth in an afterschool or camp setting. Attention to detail.
