Summary
This position contributes to Aspasia Coffee and Bake Shop by assisting the store manager by leading a team to create and maintain a warm welcoming experience for our customers. The Assistant Manager will interact and respond to team member and guest needs to uphold the organization's mission and vision. Individuals in this position are also responsible for meeting the restaurant's revenue, profitability, and quality goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist store manager and fill in for store manager absences.
Manage day to day restaurant operations.
Manage with honesty and integrity.
Dependable and reliable.
Demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events.
Resolve customers questions and concerns professionally.
Provide direction to staff.
Provide teaching and training to team members.
Hold staff accountable for behaviors and performance.

Hands on/Servant leadership skills.
May at times be responsible for interviewing.
- Ensure proper opening/closing procedures are being executed.
- Maintain a work environment that ensures and promotes adherence to food safety and health guidelines.
- Assist manager to ensure the restaurant complies with all applicable safety and health regulations.
- Assist in new menu implementation.
- Inventory Control
Establish, maintain, and control food waste.
- Manager the restaurant to exceed standards in food quality, safety, and cleanliness.
- Proven ability to drive employee satisfaction/retention, guest satisfaction and financial performance.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Qualification
Education: GED or High School Diploma
Minimum of two years of experience in food service management
Hospitality Experience (preferred)
Sound understanding of food allergies and foodborne illnesses.
Conflict resolution skills
Experience analyzing financial reports.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands
Manage day to day restaurant operations
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Self-starter, ability to work independently and as part of a team
Enthusiasm, energy, and positive attitude with a desire to learn and develop.
Passion for coaching, training, and developing.
Follow direction.
Outstanding upkeep of hygiene
Able to stand and work for long periods of time
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Detail oriented
Be extremely reliable and punctual
Teachable, open to new ideas and change
A current Employee Permit to serve alcohol, required
Food Handler Card required; company administered.
Manager ServSafe Certified (preferred)
Supervision
The employee performs work under the supervision of the Bake Shop Manager.
Work environment and Physical Demands
- Work with hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment
- May be required to work in very warm or cold conditions for an extended period of time.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
