Job Title
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support to deposition team as needed
- Review and pay Magna and subpoena process server bills over the straight through processing (STP) limit
- Assist with large billing projects, add subpoena documents and Affidavits of service to doc man
- Communicate with subpoena vendors for issuance and serving of subpoenas
- Communicate with outside counsel regarding handling of depositions
- Grant access to outside counsel responsible for scheduling and handling depositions
- Complete extension requests, compile call in and PIN information for depositions then provide the information to Magna on a weekly basis for court reporter coverage
- Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. Eligible titles include, but are not limited to: Administrative Assistant 1, Program Aide, Contract Management Specialist Trainee 1; OR
- Four years of customer service experience that required independence in both verbal and written communication responsibilities; OR
- Associate degree or higher AND two years of customer service experience that required independence in both verbal and written communication responsibilities.
Additional Comments:
For new State employees appointed to graded positions, the annual salary is the hiring rate (beginning of the Salary Range) of the position. Promotion salaries are calculated by the NYS Office of the State Comptroller in accordance with NYS Civil Service Law, OSC Payroll rules and regulations and negotiated union contracts.

NY HELPS Program:
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.
At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
