Overview
The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is recruiting for the position of Assistant Director of Student Conduct & Ethical Development. This role supports a community of students from diverse backgrounds by providing leadership and development for student conduct and ethical development. The position reports to the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Student Conduct & Ethical Development and is a 40-hour per week, 12-month, regular position.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership, vision, and direction for student conduct and ethical development at UAA.
Coordinate administrative processes and procedures for the student discipline process.
Serve as a student conduct administrator and oversee the Maxient online student conduct database.
Act as UAA’s expert on academic integrity.
Supervise Dean of Students Office student staff members.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in student conduct standards, student development theory, and relevant federal regulations (e.g., FERPA, Title IX, and the Clery Act).
Exceptional interpersonal and investigative skills, including the ability to conduct interviews, analyze facts, and apply policy with sound judgment and discretion.
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the university and community, maintain professionalism in stressful situations, and communicate clearly in writing.
Strong organizational abilities, proficiency with office technologies and database systems, and the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred: Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, educational leadership, college student personnel, or a related field; experience with Clery Act, Title IX, and/or Drug Free Schools and Communities Act; prior experience serving on a behavior intervention team.
Position Details
This is a full-time, exempt staff position with a competitive salary and a full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 80, based on education and experience.
