Position Title: The Shop 1500 Assistant Manager Department: Residence Life and Finance Office Reports To: Director of Auxiliaries Services and Buntrock Commons Classification: Student Employee Non-Exempt FTE: Date: 4/2024 Essential Job Duties: The Shop 1500 Assistant Manager (position held by a sophomore or junior) is a year- round position, during the academic year, responsible for supporting the manager's oversight of the shop's daily business operations. Essential Job Duties: 1. Oversee operations of The Shop 1500 • Monitor shop supplies and communicate needs to the Director of Auxiliaries and Buntrock Commons. • Assure The Shop 1500 is clean, organized, and held to the highest standards. • Advise the shop Manager of any needs of the shop and possible ways to be more efficient. • Assist manager in Developing marketing strategies to help promote a healthy business model. • Support the manager in the daily operations of the Shop 1500. 2. Supervise and advise The Shop 1500 student work staff • Train the student work staff on the essential operating functions of The Shop 1500. • Assist in hiring and onboarding new staff • Develop procedures, protocols, and job responsibilities • Communicate any disciplinary actions to the Director of Auxiliaries and Buntrock Commons. 3. Working with outside vendors • Research and recommend Barbers to support The Shop 1500 • Work with the vendors to identify problems and communicate those to the Director of Auxiliaries and Buntrock Commons. • Monitor the schedule of the vendors to provide excellent service for the St. Olaf Community.
Wage Range: $11.75-12.75
