Job Description Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours

Experience: 2 years minimum experience required License: Valid state license required for submission Certifications: CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA required

Must-Have: Must be certified SPD Technician Willing to accept first-time travelers depending on years certified as well as years of experience

Description: Responsible for decontamination and disinfection processes. Utilizes aseptic technique in all procedures. Organizes case carts and places instruments on trays. Maintains preference cards and ensures proper selection of wrapping materials. Adheres to sterilization wrapping procedures and equipment documentation. Processes various types of instruments and equipment including bariatric and cardiac. Performs endoscope and probe reprocessing. Assembles sets and trays based on specific needs. Participates in sterilization requirements including biological and chemical indicators. Monitors gas testing and performs immediate-use steam sterilization testing. Maintains high standards of cleanliness and compliance within the sterile processing environment. Documents all necessary information and adheres to industry best practices. Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure availability of sterile instruments. Engages in ongoing education to maintain certification and stay updated on technology.
