Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Woodshop and Sculpture student workers is ensuring the safe use of the studio spaces. Student workers are responsible for:
Ensuring students and staff are wearing appropriate PPE Checking training status of students and staff in the studios Observing the users of the space to make sure they are working in an appropriate manner Explaining the rules and policies of the Woodshop and Sculpture studio Checking that the tools, equipment, and spaces are in good repair, and communicating any concerns to the Studio Coordinator If time allows, student workers may be asked to complete secondary tasks. Secondary tasks include: Cleaning Basic tool maintenance Managing shop consumables and material inventory Other projects as assigned
This position works evenings and/or weekends, when classes are not scheduled. As a result, they tend to work with students who are working on homework or hobbies, rather than supporting classes. Secondary tasks will focus more on routine maintenance than special projects.
